The Control and Systems Engineering Department Team Won the Football Championship
The Control and Systems Engineering Department team won the Student Football Tennis Championship after defeating the Petroleum Engineering Department team in the final match held at the University of Technology. This achievement came under the leadership of coach Ahmed Mahmoud. The team consisted of the students: Ibrahim Mohammed, Ali Mahmoud Buni, and Mohammed Kareem Saeed.
The tournament was characterized by a highly competitive atmosphere and sportsmanship among the participating teams. The Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sabah, praised the team’s efforts, congratulating them on this distinguished achievement that reflects the spirit of dedication and teamwork. He also stressed the importance of supporting student sports activities due to their major role in enhancing students’ physical and social skills, in addition to the academic aspects.
The winning team was honored with the championship shield and certificates of appreciation, in the presence of a large number of students and faculty members, who praised the distinguished performance level of the Control and Systems Engineering Department team.

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the Control and Systems Engineering Department organized an awareness lecture as part of the Guidance Week activities entitled "The Importance of the Concept of Professional Ethics and Its Dimensions on Society", on Wednesday 1/29/2025. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Farah Falih Hassan to the second-year students of the Computer and Control Engineering Branch / Morning Study. The focus was on the definition of professional ethics and its impact on improving the general situation when adhering to them according to the different specializations. The circumstances in which these ethics are practiced were also addressed, with examples from daily life being provided to enhance understanding and practical application. The lecture witnessed fruitful interaction and discussions from the students about this concept, which contributed to enhancing their awareness of the importance of adhering to professional ethics in their academic and professional careers.

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the Control and Systems Engineering Department organized an awareness lecture as part of the Guidance Week activities entitled "Time and the Importance of Organizing It for University Students" on Sunday 9-2-2025.
The lecture was given by (Lect. Noor Ayad Yousif) to third –year students in the Computer and Control Engineering Branch/morning study. The lecture addressed the importance of university students time and the necessity of using it in the right way.The lecture also included a presentation of the appropriate methods and techniques for managing and dividing time, as it is one of the most important keys to success in university life and future careers.The lecture included real-life examples to enhance students understanding, and it witnessed fruitful interaction and discussions about the concept of time and the best ways to use it effectively.

The Control and Systems Engineering Department Held an Awareness Workshop on Drug Prevention
As part of the Guidance Week activities, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the Control and Systems Engineering Department organized an awareness workshop titled "Drug Prevention Awareness Workshop" on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in the Mechatronics Laboratory.
The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Hind Zuhair Khalil, with the participation of Senior Physicist Rabab Aziz Saeed, Chief Engineer Basma Hammam Khairi, and Technical Director Majda Saeed Tawfiq. It was specifically aimed at fourth-year students in the Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering branch (morning study).
The session covered the definition of drugs and their harmful effects on human health, along with providing essential health guidelines to prevent their dangers.
