The Control and Systems Engineering Department Organizes a Scientific Visit to Al-Mustansiriya University

 

A team from the Control and Systems Engineering Department, in cooperation with the Department of Diwan Affairs at our university, held a scientific visit to Al-Mustansiriya University / College of Engineering / Information Technology Department on Thursday, December 5, 2024. The visit was delivered by:

The visit included a practical explanation of the nature of internal electronic systems (such as the human resources system, postgraduate studies and documents), in addition to a visit to the Networks and Communications Unit concerned with managing the college's central server, through which the Internet service is provided, cameras are monitored, and applications are downloaded that students benefit from, and the IP switchboard that connects the college's departments and divisions is viewed. The Control and Systems Engineering Department Organizes an Awareness Seminar

 

 

 

As part of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the Control and Systems Engineering Department organized an awareness lecture as part of the "University Mornings" program, titled "How to Practice Self-Control and Develop Personal Growth," on Monday, January 13, 2025.

The lecture was delivered by Lect. Dr. Aliaa Abdul Ridha Abbas, the head of the counselling unit in the department. During the session, she addressed topics related to personal development and the correct behaviors for students in the university or societal environment, which help build self-confidence and enhance their ability to advance in scientific and social fields. The Control and Systems Engineering Department Held an Awareness Seminar

 

 

The Control and Systems Engineering Department organized an awareness seminar within the “University Mornings” program, where the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the department presented a lecture entitled “The Role of Hygiene from the Psychological and Physical Aspects for University Students,” on Wednesday 8/1/2025. The lecture was given by Lect. Dr. Qamar Qasim Muhammad, under the supervision of the head of the Guidance Unit in the department, Lect. Dr. Alia Abdul Redha Abbas. The lecture addressed the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the university environment, stressing that it is one of the basic factors that contribute to enhancing the physical and psychological health of students, in addition to its role in enhancing self-confidence. The Control and Systems Engineering Department organizes a workshop on the impact of social media on the educational process

 

 

In celebration of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Week and under the auspices of the Head of the Control and Systems Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Azad Raheem Kareem, the Educational Guidance Division held a workshop titled "Social Media and Its Role in the Educational Process" on Monday, December 23, 2024, in the conference hall.


The workshop was supervised by Dr. Alyaa Abdulreda Abaas, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, and the lecture was presented by Prof. Dr. Bushra Kadhim Oleiwi and Lecturer Reem Majeed Ibrahim. The workshop addressed various topics concerning the active role of social media in education, highlighting its positive and negative effects, as well as discussing its impact on mental health and social relationships. Furthermore, it tackled challenges such as learning disorders, distraction, and lack of focus, which could lead to social isolation.

The workshop stressed the importance of leveraging social media to enhance the educational process, relying on trustworthy sources for information, and avoiding addiction to such platforms to maintain academic performance. Suggestions included turning off phones during study sessions, deleting apps from phones, and using them via computers instead.

The Control and Systems Engineering Department Holds a Seminar on the Impact of Financial and Administrative Corruption

The Control and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Technology held a seminar entitled “The Impact of Financial and Administrative Corruption” on 16-12-2024. The lecture was given by the legal accountant and auditor, Lect. Dr. Saad Ahmed Ismail, in the presence of a number of department members and those interested in the subject.

The seminar covered several main topics, including:

- The concept of financial and administrative corruption

- Causes of financial and administrative corruption

- Types of financial and administrative corruption

- The impact of financial and administrative corruption on the economy

- Solutions that must be followed to get rid of financial and administrative corruption

The seminar aimed to shed light on the risks posed by corruption to institutions and the national economy, and ways to combat it through the implementation of effective regulatory and legislative measures. The lecturer also stressed the importance of spreading the culture of integrity and transparency and enhancing institutional work to ensure the reduction of this negative phenomenon that affects sustainable development.
