As part of the department’s preparations for the approaching end of the current academic year, a general faculty meeting of the academic staff members was held on 7/5/2024, at the conference hall of our department. Prof. Dr. Azad Raheem Kareem, head of the department, supervised the meeting with the presence of the deputy head for administrative affairs, the deputy head for scientific affairs and graduate studies, and the heads of the branches. During this meeting, the department’s preparations for the final exams for the undergraduate and postgraduate stages of study were discussed along with the most important matters required of the teaching staff to ensure that the exam process proceeds perfectly and without obstacles. The meeting also discussed the work progress of the committees working in the department and the guidance on the necessity of accomplishing what is required of them before the start of the final exams.  

 The Department’s Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held an awareness workshop in the field of protecting society from calls and manifestations of decadence and perversion (Social Type, Gender) on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The lecture was given by the Lect. Dr. Alia Abdel Redha Abbas and Asst. Lect. Reem Majeed Ibrahim. This workshop addressed the subjects of guiding students, explaining the concept of gender and the related terminology, and the Western culture about the concept of gender, which is contrary to the teachings of our Islamic religion that preserves the rights of males and females, with their own biological characteristics. The lecture concluded with some recommendations and proposals to reduce this phenomenon .

 The Control and Systems Engineering Department held a specialized course entitled (Root Locus Techniques and Design) at ten o’clock on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, until May 2, 2024, in the Control and Operations Control Laboratory, for two hours a day. During the aforementioned period, the specialized teaching course was delivered by Asst. Lect. Maha Yousef Hassan in the presence of a number of teaching staff and members of the department. The specialized course included a detailed explanation of the importance of this topic in knowing the degree of stability of the system used in command and control systems, starting with how to determine the locations of the roots based on the type of the transfer function used in the control system and determining their locations on the S-plane until a full design of the systems is completed using Root Locus Techniques and Design. The specialized session was attended by a group of teachers and members of the department. 

 The Control and Systems Engineering Department held a training course entitled (Introduction to Using Arduino in Designing Embedded Systems) on Sunday, 17/4/2024 until 21/4/2024 for two hours a day in the microprocessor lab. The training course was delivered by Asst. Prof. Mina Qays Kadhim and Lect. Russul Haitham Hadi, with the participation of a number of teaching staff and members of the department. The course included an introduction to the components of electronic boards and microprocessors, in addition to the designs of embedded systems with various functions. The simulation program called Tinckercad and its ability to design and implement various electronic circuits were also introduced. 

 The Control and Systems Engineering Department held a training workshop entitled (Google Firebase for Cloud Computing) on Tuesday 23 of April 2024, in the research unit for two hours. The workshop was delivered by (Asst. Lect. Maha Yousef Hassan) and (Asst. Prof. Dr. Bushra Kadhum Olaiwi) in the presence of a number of the departments teaching staff members. The workshop included a comprehensive explanation of Googles Firebase for cloud computing in terms of its first appearance and a detailed explanation of its features and the extent of the possibility of working through it in designing projects that include a group of application activated on Android or IOS systems or on the web due to its distinctive properties in storing and analyzing data and protecting it from theft and loss.
