The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in our department held an awareness workshop entitled Combating Drugs and their Social and Psychological Effects on Youth on Wednesday 6-11-2024. This lecture, which was delivered by (Lect. Dr. Alia Abdul Redha Abbas), a lecturer in the Control and Systems Engineering Department, dealt with defining the concept of drugs, their causes, their social and psychological effects, and their impact on young people. The lecture was delivered with the assistance of the student (Ihsaan Waleed Abul Abbas), Second Stage of the Mechatronics Branch, who asked the students some questions about drugs. Accordingly, many students made suggestions and solutions to reduce this phenomenon. The teaching goal is to rely on the students to ask questions and make suggestions because the youth are the pillar of society so they understand and pay attention to this phenomenon and determine their behaviour themselves and maintain it.
